Why do I still look Pregnant?
That Post Belly Pooch maybe Diastasis Recti. It's very common among pregnant woman . About two-thirds of pregnant women have it.
Having more than one child makes this condition more likely especially if they're close in age. Your also more likely to get it if you're over 35 when pregnant or are carrying a heavy baby or carrying multiple babies.
Pregnancy, along with wrong advice on exercise whilst pregnant like crunches and lifting heavy weights, puts so much pressure on the belly that sometimes the muscles in the front (rectus abdominals) can't keep their shape "Diastasis" which means separation.
The condition can cause lower back pain, constipation and urine leaking (along with weak Pelvic Floors!!) The muscle opening often shrinks after giving birth but in some cases of woman with Diastasis Recti, the muscle wasn't back to normal even a year later! There are many exercises that need to be avoided as it will make this condition much worse. Diastasis Recti is just one pregnancy condition.
